Caio (Kai-o) Elias is a guitarist born in São Paulo, Brazil. He started his musical journey when he was eleven years old, picking up the guitar and teaching himself how to play. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in Music at Caldwell University in New Jersey. There he honed his guitar skills by playing for the jazz band and learning classical, contemporary, and traditional Brazilian music. He also played alto saxophone for the university marching band. Caio’s main influences range from the 1940s to the 2020s; from Frank Sinatra to Kendrick Lamar. After graduating, Caio concentrated on his work as a self-producing independent artist that goes by the name “Elixer”. He makes music ranging from R&B and new wave to grunge and heavy metal. His music can be found on all streaming platforms. He has also been singing tenor for the Church of Holy Innocent’s Choir in West Orange, NJ. Caio started teaching virtually during Covid but prefers teaching in person. When teaching, his number one priority is finding ways for students to have fun while learning and uniquely expressing themselves.
